New York Hunting License Fees (2025-2026)
New York hunting licenses are managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). The current NYSDEC hunting license fee page checked on June 19, 2026 lists an annual resident hunting license at $22 for ages 16-69, $5 for residents age 70+, $5 for junior hunters ages 12-15, $100 for nonresidents age 16+, and $5 for nonresident junior hunters ages 12-15. NYSDEC says the annual hunting license includes small game and big game hunting and is required before other privileges such as bowhunting, muzzleloading and turkey permits can be purchased. Annual hunting licenses and privileges are valid September 1 through August 31, while HIP and the Federal Duck Stamp run July 1 through June 30.
