New Mexico offers exceptional hunting managed by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF). Effective April 1, 2026, New Mexico implemented its first license fee increase in over 20 years. Resident hunters now pay $25 for a base Game Hunting License, while non-residents pay $110. The state features dramatic landscapes supporting mule deer, elk, pronghorn, oryx, and ibex. Most big game hunts require draw tags, with non-resident elk ranging from $548-$773. The state is unique in offering oryx and ibex hunting at White Sands Missile Range.
